A pep talk

Thats's a man, this little man of the video is so wise, and understands the life. Is concrete, simple and motivating. Is for teachers and students, but I think it applies to everybody, because everybody is a teacher sometimes in it's life. If you have the attitude you are teaching that to the people around you.
If a country , for a example, Mexico, takes this philosophy of being thirsty of knowledge and doing things in the right  way, it will grow a lot. Being lazy is an old thing, the trend is to be happy, worker, and successful.

Asking for food in New York

A guy ask strangers for food in different situations, some are rude, some are more rude and some are extremely rude, but at the end the indigent was the only one who gave him a slice of the pizza he was given before for two guys. This indigent was rewarded at the end because of his generosity.

It may sounds like a Bible lesson, I remember one that  when you help somebody, even the most insignificant person, is like if  you are helping The Lord.
Even though you are or are not catholic, this is a great life lesson, maybe you dont believe in God but if you help uninterestedly the life or karma, or destiny or whatever will pay it to you back.

As the video says, never look down to somebody and if you do it, just do it to take him up.

What is water?

What it seems to be a video about fishes ends up being a kind of motivational speech about life and a moment that we are going to live in just a few years: "The real life", the world outside, what happens before school.

Work, routine, frustation, stress, hungriness all this concepts that come with waking up early, working all day, eating just if you have a few time, drinking coffe to resist the pressure, these are some of the caracteristics of being an adult in a capitalist society.

But the point is that no matter how terrible and boring is your situation, you always have a choice. You can chose a miserable life, because is easy and automathical, is our "natural default setting" ,or you can chose being happy, because you are not the only person in the world, everybody has problems, and even though this way needs more effort you'll life will be much better.

Deciding what has a real meaning and what doesn't is the real freedom. The attitude is the key, live before death.

This is water.

Union is strength

This video shows with examples of animals, how working in group is better tan working alone. When you support and you are supported by your team there are more chances that you success in whatever you do, and if you don't, at least you have partners of the same pain.
In the videos I saw that there was a leader of each group, and he works for and with the team, is not only their boss, is the one who looks for the needings of everyone  and tries to take the team to the best way. In a good team, everybody works, without exceptions, for a common purpose.
In an individualist world, the teams give best and more complete results,

The man in the queu

The video tells the story of a girl who wants to buy a birthday cake for her grandfather, but she and her grandma dont have the money to buy it. Unexpectedly, an unknown man pays the cake for them, and tells them the story of when he was a child, and an unknown man paid his birthday cake because he hadn't the money to buy it. At the end, the children with the grandma go home, and the grandfather discovers that the boy he helped a lot of years ago, now helped his granddaughter to buy his own birthday cake.
What goes around comes back around, I know it sounds like the song of Alicia Keys, but is true. When you act without interest, and from the bottom of your heart, the life will pay you back in infinite ways, and you dont know, maybe the same person will have the opportunity to give you the favor back.

Day of the dead

Every 1 and 2 of november, in Mexico is celebrated the Day of the Dead, it may sounds bizarre or terrorific, but is too far of being a scary tradition. This days we remember our death family and friends, and we put "ofrendas" with the traditional cut paper, and candles, water, "hojaldras", and flowers like the cempasuchitl or "flor de muerto". We also colocate some food that the person we are honorating liked. Is a bittersweet celebration because you may be sad, and missing your relatives but is a way to connect with them even when they are not physically here, there is the believe that they come this days to visit us. People also pay their respects and place fresh flowers and offerings at the cemetery for relatives during the traditional "Day of the Dead".

David Gray
David Gray (born 13 June 1968) is an English indie rock singer-songwriter.Gray released his first studio album in 1993 and received worldwide attention after the release of White Ladder six years later. It was the first of three UK chart-toppers in six years for Gray, the latter two of which also made the Top 17 in the US. He has been nominated for four Brit Awards – twice for Best British Male.

Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand are a Scottish rock band formed in 2002, and based in Glasgow. The band is composed of Alex Kapranos (lead vocals and guitar, keyboard), Bob Hardy (bass guitar), Nick McCarthy (rhythm guitar, keyboards and backing vocals), and Paul Thomson (drums, percussion and backing vocals). The band has been nominated for several Grammy Award. They have been nominated for several BRIT awards in the UK, and have won an NME Award. With their four studio albums, the band sold over three million albums worldwide in 2009.

To date, the band have released 4 studio albums: Franz Ferdinand (2004), You Could Have It So Much Better(2005), Tonight: Franz Ferdinand (2009) and Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (2013) as well as several extended plays, numerous singles, one remix album, of their third studio album, Blood, and one DVD titled Franz Ferdinand.

Black clay

Black clay pottery is a style of pottery from Oaxaca, Mexico distinguished by its color, sheen and unique designs. Oaxaca is one of few Mexican states which is characterized by the continuance of its ancestral crafts, which are still used in everyday life.

The origins of barro negro pottery extend over centuries, with examples of it found at a number of archeological sites, fashioned mostly into jars and other utilitarian items. It has remained a traditional crafts of the Zapotecs and Mixtecs of the Central Valleys area to the present day. Originally barro negro pottery was matte and grayish. In this form, the pottery is very sturdy, allowing it to be hit without breaking. In the 1950s, a woman by the name of Doña Rosa Real discovered that she could change the color and shine of the pieces by polishing the clay pieces and firing them at a slightly lower temperature. Just before the formed clay piece is completely dry, it is polished with a quartz stone to compress the surface. After firing, the piece emerges a shiny black instead of a dull gray. This innovation makes the pieces more breakable, but it has made the pottery far more popular with Mexican folk art collectors, including Nelson Rockefeller, who promoted it in the United States. The popularity stems from the look, rather than wearability, so many pieces are produced now for decorative purposes rather than utilitarian.Doña Rosa died in 1980, but the tradition of making the pottery is being carried on by Doña Rosa’s daughter and grandchildren who stage demonstrations for tourists in their local potters' workshop. The workshop is still in the family home, where shelves and shelves of shiny black pieces for sale line the inner courtyard.Despite being the origin of black polished clay, pieces at this workshop are much cheaper than in other parts of Mexico.

Breast cancer

Breast cancer

By definition breast cancer is cancer that forms in tissues of the breast. The most common type of breast cancer is ductal carcinoma, which begins in the lining of the milk ducts (thin tubes that carry milk from the lobules of the breast to the nipple). Another type of breast cancer is lobular carcinoma, which begins in the lobules (milk glands) of the breast. Invasive breast cancer is breast cancer that has spread from where it began in the breast ducts or lobules to surrounding normal tissue. Breast cancer occurs in both men and women, although male breast cancer is rare.

We can detect it on time if we go to the revisions, and we should make some auto exploration constantly. Is a shame that some people are diagnosed when it’s late, and there’s nothing to do.

In the world there are campaigns to prevent it, to detect it, and to treat it.One of them is the I Love boobies campaign, in which you buy a bracelet with that legend, and the money goes to The Keep a Breast foundation. Is a great cause to donate some money, because you can help lots of people, most of them women to change their lives. 

Maybe.

Maybe.

The video “Maybe” is about a man who is stand at the bus stop next to an unknown girl. When he notices her, he start thinking in talking to her, sharing the bus, hanging out, and a wonderful life with her. But then everything turns out to gray, because he starts thinking things like that she has somebody in her life, or that they aren’t going to have that amazing life together. At the end of the video, he doesn’t talk to her, and they continue being just strangers at the stop bus.

A sad ending. He doesn’t know the girl, but that’s not the saddest part. What is sad in this video is that he passed away the opportunity of talking with her because of his fears and all the thoughts in his mind. He should have tried talking to her, maybe he would have a yes, or maybe a not, but nothing is written. Life is like this, you have chances and if you don’t take advantage at the moment, somebody else will do it, and you can’t complain because you had the same chance. We just have one life, made of a lot moments, but that moments don’t repeat, so you must live each moment in the best way.

How do you feel when you look in the mirror?

It's incredible how we belittle ourselves. This video made me think about it, about how sometimes we are better than how we think we are.
Beauty is not only about the physical, beauty is all we are made of: our family, our work, our actions and most of the time we forget it and we feel like an empty and ugly person.
This project with the mirror is so creative and I guess that also powerful, because after that experience I would never say again I'm ugly. It is a great strategy to remember everything that composes you and everything you've been through to fell pretty again.

Like a girl.

Confidence, people is trying to destroy our self-confidence. Why? That’s a mystery; maybe they do it on purpose or maybe it is an automatic action. But the truth is that the only one who can decide if you believe in what they say, or if you follow your own rules.

I have always been told that I do everything like a girl, and in fact, at least talking about sports, I act like a girl, I play like a girl, I run like a girl, I hit the ball like a girl, maybe this stereotype was invented because of a girl like me, a girl who isn´t good at sports. But If somebody does something in the wrong way, it doesn´t mean everybody is going to do the same, you can’t generalize.

Every single person is different and has different skills, and they must be accepted as they are. If you accept yourself, you won´t feel bad with comments of doing things like a girl, or a baby, or anything that people tell you to make you feel mad about yourself. In fact you will be proud of being who you are, just the way you are.

I think that’s the objective of this video, empowering girls, and also every single person who is unappreciated because is weak in different aspects. The only one, who can build and also destroy those walls, is you and only you.

In my own skin I can say that I´m proud of being a girl, and doing it the best I can, doing it LIKE A GIRL.

Informal letter

Dear Sally,

Thanks very much for your letter. Your story about the cat and the hat is so hilarious. I just couldn’t stop laughing when I read it; something similar happened to me the last month, but with my dog! Can you imagine the weirdness of the situation?

Have I talked to you about my dog? These days is my favorite topic, I’ve got my dog, Honey, 7 years ago, is a female beagle. Now that I remember, you already knew her the day you came to visit us like 3years ago. You would never imagine how calmed and relaxed she is, that rebel days of destroying everything are in the past.

Anyway, you asked me about college. No, I haven’t made a decision about my career or the college where I’m going to study. Is getting so hard to me to make a choice, I mean I have options, but I need to be happy with it, and at the moment I’m not totally convinced about one career. At this moment I’m just stressed and worried, and also, I’m wishing I was you, you have always known your way. Since we were two primary girls, you have always wanted to be a lawyer and I’m sure you are going to success at that.

I’d better stop here, I will worry you with all the mess in my head, and also  I have a lot of homework!

Biography.

Seventeen years ago, on december 29, the daughter of Carmelina and Rigoberto came to this world in a cold winter night in a hospital in Puebla. They named her María José.
The little girl was the third of their siblings, the oldest name is Hector, he was eight years older than her. and then was Carmelina, the sister and best friend of the baby, she was six years older.
When she was three years old, their parents got divorced so she´s been living with her mother and siblings since that day. This doesn´t mean she didn´t get in touch with her father, she used to see him almost every weekend.
Then the nightmare begin. Majo started going to school. The same kindergarten her sister assisted to. she had a great time there and made some friends that she still frecuents. But this awesome school didn't have elementary school, so Majo had to start over again at this new and biggest school, the Loyola.
she's been studying there all this time, and she is going to finish high school there.
Since she was a little girl she found her passion, painting. With the support of her parents she started studying this art. But this wasn't her only passion, the summer she was sixteen she went to an art school, to continue painting. The program of that school included music, dance, theater and painting. Majo discovered that she really enjoyed expressing things with her body, voice, and soul, so now she´s studying theater.
The next december she is getting the legal age, finally the baby of the family will be eighteen. This girl can't complain, she has been having a good life, with a lot of people who loves her.
